Vids and Lit
Was watching TV today. Then I got bombarded with MVs of bands whose songs I know/like/liked.
Maroon 5 has a video that scarily sounds/looks westlifebackstreetboysjustintimberlakeaaroncater-ish.
No.
I don't have a dormant desire for westlifebackstreetboysjustintimberlakeaaroncater. I'm just putting together everything Sarah likes to come up with an adjective to aptly describe my horror, which would otherwise be hard to articulate.
Unsettling.
Then came FOB's vid. Quite absurdly funny. Planting real and fake monkeys everywhere. Reminds me of my trips to the zoo when I was a kid.
Thnks fr th Mmrs, man. Haha.
Anyway Pete has nicely DRAWN eyes. I admit I went to GOOGLE him because of the eyes. But it's just the eyes. He is secretly ugly. (Ahh... why do i itallize that?)
Next, LP. Weird to see them in leather jackets. Their video is very unlike them too. Looks like a 202 photomontage. Death. Destruction. Regeneration. Rebirth. Death. Destruction...
And: The Evironment. The War. The Americaland. The Famine... Is that LP?
Fear, Emptiness and Identity Crisis, where art thou?
Anyway I kindda get why Fort Minor has to exist. If not Mike Shinoda will tremble in fear for losing his job, if not now, soon. LP cut down ALOT on rapping.
Okie, those aside.
I was reading Heart of Darkness this morning and I found it quite funny. Check out this passage:
"... secretly appalled, as sane man would be before an enthusiatic outbreak in a madhouse".
HAHAHAHA. Conrad is writing like how I usually write/talk, especially with Tinky!!!
E.g. "Tinky, are you secretly there? Tinky, you secretly like Mark! Tinky, you secretly think that Cristiano is zai!"
Amazing.

Random Stuff
Mosquitoes make me realize the importance of a body that is well.
The bites on my legs form a symmetry. Can you believe it. Mozzies now are so artistic.
I'm 21 and I will watch R21 shows.
Waiting for the Barbarians is surprisingly more interesting than I thought it was.
And studying for lit exams makes me feel civilized.
It's fun to sit there, pretend to look serious and intrigued by the books, highlight sentences, and jot down what I think the highlighted stuff imply. Cool right, I feel that I look intellectual.
Pardon me. First time sitting for lit exams. I've never touched lit since sec1 and 2.
I've dyed my hair black. Bought pale lipsticks. And a black eyeliner pencil. The pencil kindda suck. It doesn't smudge. But it doesn't stay on long enough. Will try to get another one. Or maybe try a dark brown. Wahaha... SOUNDS like I'm going goth. Not really, just inspired by random bands' makeup.
Ok. Anyway tmr I'm gonna call the school and beg them to let my drop History of Great Inventions. I really WISH they'll let me do that. PLEASE school... let me drop it!
My lips are chapping. Save me.
Ok that's all for now. And thanks to all those we celebrated my birtday with me. I love you guys.. erm.. girls!

Yesterday
For the first time in my life I was dying for CR Prac to end early.
HAHA.
Can't help it. Have been wanting to watch Breaking and Entering since dunno when. And yesterday was the day. I was glaring at the clock when Brenda and Mark went on and on and showed no sign of letting us off at 5 plus... the movie starts at 7.30... and the PIE jam usually takes forever.
Dunno why reviews don't flatter the show too much. I think it's decent... ok I admit. I can be biased because I like Jude. But then seriously, it's quite a nice show. Reminds me of Heart of Darkness somehow... crossing of boundary and epistomological impasse. Alot of out of focus shots, alot of metaphor, alot of negatives and constipation in the conversations because the characters don't know and cannot describe what they feel and what they want and thus end up articulating what they don't feel and don't want. Or simply, just shut up and look lost. Really cool. You know... the feeling of knowing something is wrong with them but you can't tell exactly what. Just a general feeling of repression, agony... Eh sounds familiar. Impressionism? I don't know... but yk interpreted the show as depicting the inner desire in men to want to break the law somehow. Quite different from what I imagined.
Nevermind.
But once again, Jude is hot. HOW HOT. His hair is grey and all messed up and he's aged terribly but he's still terribly hot. Somehow.
Anyway PS Cafe is a cool place. Literally and figuratively. As we were sitting there eating, some sort of wind just miraculously blew from a mysteriously nowhere at our legs. Super cold I almost died. The place is damn nice my camera phone is doing it a disfavour cuz it can't really capture it's niceness. The path that leads to the cafe is really pretty... with warm little lights glowing beside you as you make your way to the cafe.
Like the cafe itself, the food is served very prettily. The desserts look sooooo tempting! But I didn't try them in the end... too bloated after the main course, which I could barely finish. I'll be back, though. HAHA.
Another cool place - but I forgot the name. Some place to drink wine la, just a short walk away from PS Cafe. Again, very pretty and cosy. Had white wine there. And I realise that white wine is soooooo much better than red wine. No weird aftertaste. We were quite scary... finished the entire bottle by ourselves (2 pax)... BUT I was sober enough to go home in a piece. Fortunately.
New discovery made yesterday: Camera phones with 2.0 megapix should win the nobel prize. People look better in pix taken with these phones. Picture quality good enough for human eye, but not good enough to show the flaws of the subjects in the pix. HAHAHA. Tried taking photos with my Samsung camera (5.0 megapix) and look like shit in it. Must delete quickly. Shhh...
That was all. Next chilling session... prolly after 3rd May. Arghhh...

Yesterday
For the first time in my life I was dying for CR Prac to end early.
HAHA.
Can't help it. Have been wanting to watch Breaking and Entering since dunno when. And yesterday was the day. I was glaring at the clock when Brenda and Mark went on and on and showed no sign of letting us off at 5 plus... the movie starts at 7.30... and the PIE jam usually takes forever.
Dunno why reviews don't flatter the show too much. I think it's decent... ok I admit. I can be biased because I like Jude. But then seriously, it's quite a nice show.
