I haven't been able to catch up with alot of people I wana catch up with.
Like Minwei left for Taiwan this morning (I think, or was it afternoon) and I just remembered it 5 seconds ago. So I can't sms her goodbye and good luck. What was I busy with? An essay on Orientalism.

It's the hols but I'm gonna have to return to school 3 days this week. And I have 2 Lit essays to write, 2 Lit books to read, 1 bio proposal to make appear (because it takes magic to do this), 1 vid to recut, 1 vid to film and edit, a 2-hour dvd to code and analyse, and a million random readings to complete.

I'm not complaining. I love to read, I love to write essays (I have the amazing ability, like many people around me, to extend a one sentence thing into 10 pages worth of nonsense). And I love to be in school. It's just the thought of not being able to have fun with friends outside CS that makes me cringe a bit. Plus, it sucks that my low memory capacity makes me forget important dates... like when I'm suppose to go for class gathering, and when I'm suppose to meet up with people. Arghhh.

Like Ali, I have in mind many many places I wana go to pig out. Dempsey Road and Holland V... behold... here I come!

Well, I'm not that unproductive and life-less afterall. I did manage to meet up with some people lately. But not all could be considered a good or fun experience...

I attended the A13 gathering and seriously, I didn't enjoy it. I felt I didn't belong. Okie I shouldn't even be wondering why this is happening because in the first place, I never was close to 03A13. Hwa Chong is a weird place. I feel I belong to LEP. I don't feel I belong to my class. I feel that I'll fail Math. I got an A for it. I feel I studied for LEP. I got a C for it. Somebody explain why...

I was so glad my seniors called while I was feeling lost at the gathering. Immediately, I left to join them at The Prata House. Got a huge shock/surprise when I saw them. For a moment, I couldn't recognize tm cuz of his hair... haha. He just looked different... totally not what I'd imagine he'll turn into. Anyway a short meeting with the 3 of them made me realize how uni life can drain people off their energy and transform people into... erm... okay, how uni life can make people very different. It took me awhile to get used to yk lamenting about the amount of work he has to do. Wow. That's new. But I sympathize with him completely.

Oh yes and I met zj for dinner the other day and he too changed alot. Still as crappy, but he look somewhat different although I can't tell why. Felt really sorry cuz I hadn't seen him in 3 years and I could only meet him up for a 2-hour dinner. BECAUSE I HAD THINGS TO DO. ARGHH. Nevermind. Really thankful though, for the presents and the dinner. A bro is a bro is a bro. HA!

Anyway I manage to catch Paris XXX (I can't spell it) yesterday, with yk. The show is quite funny. I mean yea there were several touching stories, but the funny ones outnumbered them. The vampire thing was funny because it is ridiculous. But the color scheme is pretty. I love the red of the blood and its stickiness. Don't ask me why I just like it. The China thing was... either too senseless or too sensible I cannot comprehend. So forget it.

Then there's this gay story which is DAMN FUNNY! And to me it's even funnier when yk whispered to me "Ehh... your type."(note: M) I was damn amused. Then at one point the gay man was like saying something about him liking jazz and I got so excited I almost screamed but I controlled myself and whispered to yk "HE (M) likes jazz too!". I thought he'd just keep quiet and ignore me, or just roll his eyeballs at me... but then he went on telling me he likes jazz also!!! WOAH I also died laughing!!! HAHAHAHA!!! Sounds damn wrong la.. trying to associate yourself with... erm... HAHAHAHA!!!

Okie nvm. Anyway after the movie we went Holland V for a drink (my Raspberry Tea Freeze tastes like carrot. I swear.) and then Dempsey Road to do some receeing... thus I conceived the idea of dining there one day. The restaurants along the stretch are like HOW pretty! Oohh imagine dining there with... Okie nvm. Wahaha!!!

Woah I'm blabbering nonsense already. Should shut up, have dinner, then read Waiting for the Barbarians. Actually it's quite an interesting book. Whee!!!

Random Shit

(Disclaimer: The following analysis is made based on my personal opinion and may not represent the intended meaning that the author (not me) hopes to convey.)

This thing (that can be found in all cs peeps' inbox) is funny:

"help your gahmen".

  • "help": a sincere, loving term.
  • "your": direct addressing of the audience; personalization of the message so that we might relate better, I think.
  • "gahmen": a term that somehow conveys a bit of sarcasm. a little dismissive too, in my opinion.
  • "help your gahmen": an insincere attempt to appeal for our help on behalf of our government.

How niao is that? I absolutely love it. Perfect representation of the quote " the whole is more than the sum of its parts".

Anyway CNY is finally here but I'm not too happy about it. First of all, the availability of food would probably mean the increment in body mass. Not a promising future...

Another concern is the work I have to do. I know I must must must finish reading my Antique Land before Tuesday if I don't want to look/sound stupid in the next lit class. Splashing water all over myself in the previous class already made me stupid enough.

Then there's the Intellectual Property essay to write for Bio in Biz class. Shit... And not forgetting the proposal that I have to write to market some random machine/device that I have no idea what it is and how it functions.

If I'm gonna continue grumbling about work, I'll sound like an idiot. A bum. So I'll go on to complain about NOT being able to attend classes instead.

CNY and the one week break following it is a trauma to me, and of course to many around me. Why's that? Because it means we're gonna miss two days of Tuesday classes. I can already feel tears welling up in my eyes, blurring my vision... and I can feel many hearts contract in agony.

Tuesdays are the most enlightening and spiritual days and I cannot express myself appropriately to describe the sorrow of missing Tuesday classes. Argh. The wonders of the prehistoric Earth... the degeneration of Imperialists... the intellectual discussion on how to best formulate focus group/survey questions... I feel knowledge and wisdom growing within every Tuesday. (Not that I really became much smarter... I just FEEL smarter! But that's really all I ask for... hehe.)

And a bit of explanation to my constant disappearance/absence from class gatherings or gatherings of any sort. I am very busy. No, I am not actively involved in any school activities or whatever... I'm just very busy because 1) I am a slow worker; 2) I have alot of things to do cuz of the modules I'm taking this sem.

So if you are imagining that I'm hiding from you, whoever you are, I'm not. And I'm truly sorry for not meeting up, though.

I'm Glad Yesterday is/was Yesterday

In chronological order over the span of an entire day:

  1. First, my earring flew off my ear and landed on the ground.
  2. Then I was forced to charge like a 28yearoldbiatch towards the same prey.
  3. Then there was the psychological trauma when I come to the realization that I was not recognized by people (Yes, I insist on using plural rather than singular to console myself a bit, if you get what I mean. I'd rather 1000 people not recognize me than one. Just that particular one.) who should recognize me. Suddenly, James is right. I have a common face afterall. Shit.
  4. Next I knocked my arm into the edge of a table, causing it to bruise.
  5. 5 seconds later, the same spot crashed into another object, causing the bruise to gain height (it swelled).
  6. Then due to the morning trauma, I sat alone (persistantly) on a bench and pouted and glared furiously at a blank space in front of me while Thong talked to the one who caused the trauma cuz I refuse to pay attention to people who won't acknowledge my presence.
  7. Then as I thought things got better when my presence is finally acknowledged, I got the news about the "pseudo job re-application" and I fell prey to Sadness again.
  8. As I jumped into the car, thinking... Ah the day is finally over, I figured I parked it sooooo badly I can extract it from it's lot.
  9. I saw Hope and Hope saved me after a long long struggle.
  10. Then I jumped in happiness, and out jumps my new cellphone, which courageously dived onto the rough road surface. Scratch. Ouch. My heart aches as I see the disfigured phone.

I know I'm blabbering crap but yes, there were many accidents yesterday and I was involved in many of them. I'm gonna read my Series of Unfortunate Events again and see if I can relate better this time round.

Meanwhile, Yesterday is over and I'm glad it's Today now. And Today is gonna be good.
