what can be more devastating than being knocked out via pso when your goalie is the reserve. although i never liked argentina, i don't think they deserve to lose.
but it doesn't really matter to me who won the match. i don't like both teams anyway. although i have to admit it was a good game, i fell asleep every five minutes after halftime. can't blame me though, i haven't slept since 6am in the morning and it's about 1am when i watched the match. and remember... there was extra time and pso. i wanted to slap klose for slotting in that 80th minute goal. deprive me off my sleep.
anyway i thought the referee tried quite hard to be fair but he's just kindda blind. can't blame him too much. (although i still think ballack deserve some sorta punishment, he's damn rough n rude larh.)
aiya... and tinky don't scold me... i don't play football and i don't like both teams. they're good larh but there's not excitement when i watch them play. when they score, i just stare at the tv and say.. "orh... goal arh"... i wouldn't lift an eyebrow or move a muscle for either teams.
but okie.. they're zai... plus really fast. oh and i know ukraine is really pok. i saw some replays and was so sian i couldn't even bother to want to smash the tv set when i saw the glaring stupidity displayed by them. haha...

My Post-World Cup Partywhen the teams you support are gone or half gone (in the case of ukraine & portugal)
you indulge in something other than screaming & cheering in front of the tv set.
i don't mean cursing their opponents or swearing at them. that's staple.
what is world cup or football without throwing out your foulest vocab list as you watch on, sitting on the edge of the sofa, grabbing a blanket and punching a pillow when your boy gets tripped
or when some assholes dived
or when a referee or linesman make yet another stupid decision.
grrrrr...........
when u find yourself sunken in an agonizing state of depression
u try to balance that shit feeling out by doing something that'll make you happy once again.
thus, i went on a quest in search of the spanish football jersey.
wednesday, tinky and i went to queensway and rampaged like all the shops there.
but there's no S size left for our spanish home jersey.
according to the bosses there, a week ago the jerseys wouldn't sell.
but in a week, they're all snapped up.
S size snapped up.
there's this lingering feeling that its the female population that created this phenomenum.
just look at casillas, torres, garcia, xabi, ramos, cesc etc...
majestic view.
anw after a sterile day (no fruit for our labor),
i went on with day 2 of the quest the very next day.
to town we go.
this time it's with dear ali.
after a fierce battle at zara (cuz it's the 1st day of its sale)
we proceeded to various sports shop in town to find my jersey.
i tink the adidas and stadium person got sick of my presence.
then finally, i couldn't help but make a bigger pest out of myself by troubling this adidas person to help me check with other adidas branch if they have any S size left.
Paragon was it. so i made the reservations.
but before we headed to paragon, i first made a stop at the jersey shop at lucky plaza. and OMG OMG OMG... they actually carry the female version of the jersey!!!
i tried it and it looked damn, damn cool.
so i felt stuck, not knowing what to buy. the men/women's jersey.
i decided to turn into a GIANT pest by reserving the jersey AGAIN at this shop, then headed to paragon to see if the men's jersey is hotter than this.
(note: hot, as in torres hot; casillas hot. not germany sun's hot.)
after putting on the men's jersey i was torn.
even ali was kindda torn.
both jerseys look kindda marvelous.
but a kid like me cannot afford both cuz it's a crazy idea.
so ali tot of me looking for sponsors.
you know, christmas is actually not too far away.
one phone call, and i got an early christmas present from mom.
she got me the female jersey and i got me the men's jersey.
hurray!!!
i felt happier than having a wonderful dinner or spending a wonderful day buying wonderful things at GSS.
to think of it, GSS hasn't really sunk into me due to world cup.
i'm still transitioning from berlin to local time so i'm sleeping at weird hours and getting up at even weirder hours.
and shit, the matches are on again today. although there's not much for me to scream about anymore.. it's still wonderful watching teams playing nice football. go deutschland!!! go ukriane!!!
anyway, my point is that jerseys are my new indulgence.
i guess i might have to agree to help my aunt work for another 4 day assignment to get like $200 so i can make a new jersey investment.
there's only one complaint i'll like to make about buying jerseys.
why don't they ever sell goalkeeper's jersey in singapore.
and why is it that goalkeeper's jersey are alwiz alot more expensive than the normal ones.
i suddenly hope casillas is some midfielder instead. ouch!

World Cup Ends Herei'm gonna quit watching world cup.
and maybe resume watching in 2010.
wtf everything's gone wrong with the teams i support.
1st... they took off most of the key players in portugal.
and then expect them to play england.
i can imagine a grinning eriksson.
hell no.........
then... spain lost against france... 3-1...
i mean wth spain's like one of the best teams in world cup this time
and france totally lacklustre..
i expected spain to perhaps get knocked out by brazil at least.
then they tell me it has to be the french.
THOSE FRENCH CHEATERS!!!!!
the 1st and 3rd goal seemed offside (esp the 3rd one)
and the 2nd goal was won from henry's DIVE???
HENRY DIVED????????????????????????????
unscrupulous!!! totally!!!!!
from a player like that... it's a shame!
to think i liked him before he did that dive...
i swear i'm gonna throw away everything arsenal in my house.
thanks to them for nurturing such idiots...
i want cesc to leave the club NOW.
and if torres is ever gonna sign with them.. i'll fly to madrid & kill him,
then fly to england & kill wenger. then burn henry & viera alive.
my long awaited world cup 2006 is screwed.
and i hate this.
but in 2010... there'll be a change in fengshui.
france will have a whole bunch of retirees in their squad.
either that or they have young & inexperienced players.
but look at spain.
now, there's already the flamboyant torres, villa, cesc and casillas etc...
by 2010... they're in their mid 20s & bravo!!! with their bitter 2006 experience & their youth... they can beat any1 flat.
FLAT i say.
as for now.. if there's anything worth watching left in the world cup for me, it has to be to witness how france gets knocked out by brazil.
and it's not very nice to watch world cup in hope that someone gets knocked out, instead of hoping someone u love will win.
the concept sounds similar but it's a different thing entirely.
knowing that portugal will face difficulties given their current condition,
and ukraine will be in shit given their next opponent...
i can only indulge in my admiration of pretty boys on the pitch, minus casillas and torres.
now it suddenly strikes me...
aragones will be like 71 in 2010... so who will coach spain???
omg big phil... pls come to the spanish rescue!!!
amen.
(i hope casillas slaps zidane inside out when he gets back to madrid)

Portugal vs Netherlandsthis match was full of violence.
more importantly, it showed how a lousy decision made by a brainless referee can turn things so ugly.
the damned russian b*stard cheated portugal off their free kick.
as though it's not bad enough he stopped the game at the crucial moment when the portugese were close to scoring another goal.
idiot.
that angered the portugese.
no wonder deco tried to tackle the ball so viliantly.
-- it's their ball.
the bloody shameless dutch stole it under the nose of figo.
and that referee blantantly allowed the game to continue.
wtf.
deco's nice and cute enough to smile his way through when flashed with the 1st yellow card.
and i think that dutch idiot deserved confrontation from figo for falling deco. i hope fifa doesn't suspend figo or anything for that.
then,
came the cutest foul of all of football's history.
remember... it's supposed to be portugal's free kick.
so as deco dribbled and spotted this flying dutchman lumbering towards him, trying to steal the ball away from him, he stopped the ball, picked it up, and hugged it.
omg i almost died.
that's how cute!!!
immediately, he was yellow, then red carded.
he clasped his hands and pleaded with the ****ing referee
who dismissed him and sent him off mercilessly.
so, why isn't that dutch who threw deco to the ground after deco hugged the ball yellow carded as well?
i think he deserved it more than deco do.
the whole match is terrible.
so what if portugal won?
cristiano ronaldo was badly injured within minutes of play.
figo may face consequences from fifa for his confrontation of some b*atards.
deco & costinha suspended.
i bet erkisson the cowardly pig, and beckham and crouch and all the englishman out there are celebrating portugal's misfortune.
with almost all their key players down, england has higher chance of squeezing into the top 4.
such losers. reaping off your opponant's misfortune.
if portugal can play all their key members
victory wouldn't be a difficult task at all.
i can only hope that ronaldo & figo will be able to play against england.
and if there's something fifa would like to do,
please, sack that russian referee.

No Sleep, No Merch... for the coming 3 days...
portugal, ukraine and spain are playing at 3am. consecutively.
that means i'll have to switch to berlin time again.
been in frantic search for spanish merchandise but somehow,
only the men's jersey is available.
saw some nice jackets and women's singlet, but they all have the words argentina, brazil, netherlands, italy, france etc... written on them.
that's called barriers to purchase.
my only purchase in the end was a shirt with the words
"I love Roddick" inscribed on them.
yea... i love roddick too. hehehe...

wt* is wrong with the swedish defence.
i'm totally pissed.
only isaksson shines today.
the germans really changed alot.
no longer the boring idiots dependent on their goalie,
and the retards who refuse to launch attacks.
now, it's deutsh almighty.
but of course, lovely espana's still capable of whacking them flat (in terms of goals scored, not the literal sense. spaniards are nice people without violent tendencies.).
that reminds me.
rooney pushed casillas into the audience 2 years ago during a friendly.
bloody rooney.
sick to think that england's playing ecuador instead. such an easy target.
i told my sister just this afternoon that if england changes their coach, sacks rooney and crouch, makes lampard or ferdinand their captain, i'll buy their jersey and be a fan.
now, bloody rooney, crouch & eriksson still stick out like ugly pimples on the rather lovely english squad. oh how i hate them.
still... it's viva espana.

Yesterday i was torn apart.
i didn't know which 10pm match to watch today, ukraine or spain???
i tried to do some reasoning and it went something like this:
Watch Spaini like spain better.
i like casillas more than shevchenko.
i also quite like torres, but in ukraine there's only sheva to look out for throughout the entire match. thus it's more efficient to watch spain. (kill 2 birds with a stone)
Watch Ukrainemore excitement, it's still not confirmed if they can pass this round. if i watch, i get the 1st hand info.
sheva has more screen time than casillas since he's on the field, not in that bloody penalty box.
spain's confirm gonna pass the round, which means there's no urging need to know how they might fare.
then, until i read today's papers.. i was on the verge of pulling the cable & bringing the tv downstairs so i can watch both matches at the same time. (which is quite impossible cuz the cable is too short i think.)
today's newspaper has a bloody title:
SPAIN WILL SEND IN THEIR RESERVES.
true.. they can afford to.. and it's a good choice to rest them so they can be energized & fit & injury free for the next match.
BUT.
a bloody big BUT... is it necessary to rest casillas???
totally pissed at the decision.
with their superb defence... their goal keeper can practically just fulfill his job of posing for my pleasure! he won't even need to do alot of the goal keeping job!!!
he. can. get. enough. rest. just. standing. there. and. stoning.
so why the hell take him out?
i'm not worried about the reserves goalies not being good enough for the job, because they're cool and there's really very little for them to do since their opponents don't even get a chance put the ball near the goal. i'm just pissed casillas don't get the screen time he's already very deprived of. (i don't mean to say i hope he'll have alot of balls to save... i just hope he'll be interviewed more often.. whee!!!)
argh. and with torres being rested... today's match will resemble that of portugal's 2 days ago. portugal without ronaldo and deco. wth.
okie so the decision is made. ukraine is more worthy of my attention tonight so ukraine it shall be on my tv screen.
oh anw just a side note... giorgio armani has engaged sheva as endorser (yay!), and kaka for emporio armani. why the hell kaka??? argh... sometimes it's just hard to tell if designers have good taste or not... controversy makes the world a confusing place to live in.

Luckthe other day my aunt and i walked past the singapore pools.
then after seeing the odds, she told me she wanted to place bets on the netherlands vs argentina game.
she wanted to bet on netherlands victory.
it took me quite some time to understand what's being displayed on the monitors.
i felt rather stupid, especially when i see some hokkien speaking ah peks loiter around that stuffy place professionally.
how can i not understand something that even they can understand?
pardon my eliticism.
but "eliticism can be fun..." i saw this quote somewhere i forgot where.
anyway, when i finally figured how to read the screens, i understand why my aunt chose to place bets on netherlands' victory.
the returns are higher, in economic terms.
i stopped her from doing so, recalling the devastation argentina brought upon serbia n mont some days ago.
i haven't seen how netherlands play... but i somehow feel they're not good enough for the argentines.
as we leave the den, my aunt warned me jokingly that she'll give me a trashing if netherlands is to emerge victorious.
anyway, she only invests $5 per time, so her loss will be tiny.
she already lost $5 when she insisted korea will win france.
i think i helped to cut her loss to $5 this world cup.
if not, it might very well be twice that amount -- $10.
that reminds me of a bad betting experience...
i was a kid... 12 years of age... when i bet with my dad that brazil will win the cup.
the next day as i prepared for school, dad grinned happily at me as he told me i'll have $5 less for pocket money that week.
damn. (france won instead).
i came to a realization at that tender age that i can never depend solely on my luck to get what i want.
true enough, i'm 20 now but i haven't won a lucky draw yet.
i can even spot questions wrongly for my A'lvl. if not for my smoking skills, i'd have flunk chinese history. and my recent CS103.
so, all in all, skills, hard work and determination always prevail over good luck. with that, i believe that spain can finally overcome their status as underachievers of the world cup this year and soar high. nobody's gonna be cursed their whole lives.
and nobody's gonna be blessed forever if you're really not good enough. ... so korea, buck up if you want me to be impressed with your wins & draws.
i know the amount of effort the koreans put in, but still, compared to the great football nations... the time factor still puts them behind. i'm not disregarding their hardwork, it's just that a few years' time of hardwork shouldn't beat decades of it.
i hope that in this world cup, the participating nations will get the ranking that they ought to get. 2002 was a crap year.

Spanish & Ukrainian Victoryi was so so so friggin happy when ukraine finally trashed saudi 4:0.
at last.. my shevchenko proved his worth!!!
when he got sub out... all the ukrainians were cheering like crazy...
as though he'd just done something extremely nobel for the country..
he's like a national hero larh...
(he is... actually...)
lovely to see him score n help build the following goal.
such a delightful sight!!!
and the 1st half of the spanish match disgusted me alot.
not that the spaniards didn't do well.. they're wonderful..
just that somehow.. all their shots went flat & into that bloody tunisian goalie's catch..
i wanted to kill that man at that instant!
and a bloody 7 (or is it 8) minute goal was traumatizing!!!
it kept me fearing the worst for the next hour or so..
i mean.. tunisia leading spain??? wth!!!
and aragones' decision to take villa away and place raul in was another trauma larh..
i don't understand why he did it.. ( i nv undst football anw)..
but this old man is indeed a brilliant strategist...
all his substitutes helped in creating the opening goal..
wheee!!!
then torres also came in to save the day...
he scored twice.. and suddenly i love him more than casillas..
but it was only that split second.. after that i decided casillas is better... hehehe ^.^
i was screaming at the top of my lungs when finally..
tunisia crumbled under spain's attack...
everyone from the spanish team was celebrating together..
only casillas celebrated alone cuz of his stupid role as goalie..
if i were the referee i'd have ran to him & celeb with him..
such a heartless referee... argh!
anw it was a wonderful night.. or izit day...
even though i suffered from fatigue and even puked for dunno what reason the following day... (literally).. it was well worth the effort.
lovely. now i'm waiting for portugal to inflict damage on mexico. till then...

My Stupid Conclusion on the Portugal vs. Iran Game(In aesthetic terms...)
love this game...
deco's really wonderful i always love him... yeah!
still remember how i wanted to buy this biography (i guessed it's a biography cuz it was titled Deco) of his when i visited portugal 2 years back, but was stopped by the entire family cuz they are certain i cannot master the portugese language within my life time.
which means the book will just sit on the shelf till the end of the days, untouched.
anyway his shot was a real beauty although i can't tell why. it just looked pretty to me...
**oh no i'm such a useless match viewer. argghh..
c.ronaldo's also a sight. okie besides his looks and nice grins.. his footwork was super cool & tricksy...
but he's kinnda selfish... trying to save the goals for himself instead of passing it when it was obviously a better alternative. ouch!
figo... i don't really know how he performed cuz i don't understand football (at all). but that kick on his face is certainly painful. there was a red patch larh.. how bloody painful can that be... OUCHH!!!
no wonder bush hates the iranian government so much...
they are the root of violence... keep tripping my beloved portugese players over... i wanted to slap them when they trip deco larh!!!
oh and anw i think women will all enjoy this match.
i was grinning from start till end of the match as i drool over deco & ronaldo...
yes that's right... deco is damn cute i think.
he's like a little boy sitting on the field tying his laces as the referee waited to flash him the yellow card.. and he was still all smiles.
woooooOOoo!!! how cute!
and figo's my mom's hero larh..
she was like... omg his face!!! when he was smacked in the face..
i think mom was heartbroken...
on the other hand, the italian match put me to sleep.
i woke up only 3 minutes before halftime and the score & sending off of an american player made me hopeful that it's gotta be a wonderful 2nd half...
BUT...
my mom complianed that she wasted her sleep to watch the italians..
and today, both mother n daughter (datz me) slept like crazy...
stupid.. i'm still waiting for my ukraine n spain to play again...
go casillas!! go shev!!

Argentina's 6 - 0 Victory and the Power of Mother Naturei was totally shakened when the ball flew into the net merely 6 min after the whistle went off.
then trauma sets in as 5 other goals exploded in the remaining minutes.
how humiliating for the serbs & monts.
the argentine players are planted everywhere on the field.
it seems no matter where the ball went, one of them will be bound to reach it.
... scary...
and hateful at the same time as i imagine how my beloved spain may have to face them one day, someday.
i know only the best should emerge victorious but very often, my emotions triumph over logical thinking as i wish and wish that somehow, if the 2 teams are to meet, spain can win.
hey it's not like spain is damn lousy larh...
tinky was telling me how the argentines suck at set pieces
and i think i understand just 50% of how this might help calm my fears.
how in the world can you force your opponents into playing set pieces???
i am gonna bug tinky the next time i see her... hehe.
call me lame but i really dislike argentina.
i'm impressed by their play, but don't they just look... erm.. unlikable?
i mean, football is very much a game about beauty, passion, entertainment and skill...
BEAUTY... is what they don't possess.
waahahaha... opps opps opps...
but isn't it clear and undisputable that Messi is not a display of beauty?
on the contrary, isn't Iker Casillas a perfect example of it?
and and and... not to forget Shevchenko... woooOOoo!!! (^^)
football always reminds me of how mother nature is capable of creating beautiful things... beautiful beings...
i think i should step into the garden more often to uncover more beauties in nature.
meanwhile... i'm bracing myself for the 9pm and 3am matches.. tata!

I HATE TO SLEEP
i always love to...
but it turns sucky when u fall sick & gets thrown into bed unwillingly by either a concerned mom or your body's mourning mechanism.
it's worse when you feel so sweaty but has to cover yourself in blankets, knowing that it's actually quite hot out there but somehow, you're shivering.
and then, you sweat even more, even as you're feeling cold.
the ultimate thing that pisses me off is that WORLD CUP is here. but i can't watch any match cuz i'm supposed to sleep early. okie... set world cup aside, even the watching of tv serials at normal hours tires me like shit.
what the hell is going on??? i'm happily staying at home as i've always wished, but i can't do the things i wana do???

7 Years of Waiting...
finally... this wish is fulfilled.
I SAW PETER GADE!!!!!
omg i was so so so darn happy about it!
Took many photos but unfortunately, he doesn't look good in photos. here's one of the better shots i took.
Anw he's gonna play in the finals tmr with fellow dane kenneth jonassan. dammit. i hope gade will win.
Am feeling really lucky that i'm able to catch a glimpse of gade before his retirement. badminton players don't last long and he's already been here since dunno when. i still remember how i used to spend my computer lab days in secondary school looking at his photos on the comp, swooning over him and cursing his girlfriend who is a few years his senior, wondering why he chose badminton over soccer when he had a choice.
i still think he should play football. at least he can continue playing for a couple more years. plus cute football players have more limelight and i think he deserves it. he's way too under rated now. (like how ian is unfairly overlooked by stupid hollywood.. haha)
so much for today. absolutely worn out due to all the screaming and jumping and cursing.
i gotta sleep. heeeee... sweet dreams for me!!!

XMEN n My Anti-Hero Stand.. as in anti...tinky is gonna scold me but i gotta say i do enjoy the movie...
it's pretty cool... save the fact that storm's only display of power is indeed just staring up at the sky... hehehee.
(u're right tinky!)
seriously the choice of characters is not very right,
or shd it be that the mutants all have weird taste.
if i were cyclops or wolverine...
i'd have chosen storm over jean...
if i were rouge or that girl who can dive past walls...
i'd have chosen archangel over bobby...
i mean bobby... what the...
he can only come in handy when i wana ice-skate..
which wouldn't occur as frequently as i wana travel from place to place..
angel is definitely a better catch.. hehehe..
oh well but archangel is really nothing but an eye candy.
ali n i realize it at the end of the show...
everytime we see him we'll go "ooohhhh!!!"
but then, after evaluation, he did just 4 things in the show:
1) cut off his wings
2) run away from his dad
3) appeared at the war scene to run away with his dad
4) fly past magneto without realizing he's regained his power.
conclusion: he's nothing more than a pretty face n a pair of pretty wings.
a bit sad... but it's okie...
i never think heros are cool.
somehow, they always seem to be like people who're held down by some heavy responsibility n what not,
and they're never associated with happiness.
always frowing... thinking of how to save the day and the following day and the following day...
i'd rather be a mediocre (shit i can't spell this word) person enjoying my life doing what i want to, rather than doing some big things beyond my capability.
thus, archangel is definitely more of my type than bloody wolverine or cyclops...
i don't wana be some hero killing my loved ones for the sake of people (the public) whom i don't even know, and then making myself feel like shit. (refer to that wolf)
i don't wana be some perfect-spouse-material (cyclops), mourning over a dead lover knowing that it wouldn't contribute to any brighter future or blah.
i just wana be that care-free thing that flies around, saving people i love, doing what i want to & saying no to what i don't desire.
... that, i say, is happiness.
